The 6th edition of the Balkan International Wine Competition & Festival 2017 starts with a very intense program. The event will take place in Grand Hotel Sofia from 1 – 4 June. Four Masters of Wine and many other international wine specialists will be in Sofia to evaluate the Balkan wines.

The festival will open its doors a 12 o'clock on 3rd of June in the garden of Grand Hotel Sofia.

BIWC Festival 2017 will offer a real Balkan Wine Fiesta with more than 500 top wines to try, Balkan gourmet and an entertaining and joyful program alongside the festival.

Here are some of the titles of the Master Classes and the lectures:

The mistery of TAMIANKA  - the Balkan white treasure will be held by Rod Smith MW. Some of the best wines made from very aromatic Tamianka grape will be tasted.

In the name of XINOMAVRO by  Konstantinos Lazarakis MW, BIWC chairman will bring you in Greece in some of the most spectacular wine scenes. This top quality wine grape is making is triumph on the international markets and brings glory to the Greek wines.

The very best of the BALKANS, some personal favourites with Caroline Gilby MW will be the Master Class of Caroline Gilby MW, one of the most important specialist as far as the Balkan wine is concerned.

Master class Simply …THE BEST  of Romanian wines will be held by Horia Hasnas and will show to all the winelovers the beauty of Romanian wines.

And last but not least the very interesting program will finish with 2 master classes for Bulgarian wines - The local BULGARIAN varieties seen by Vili Galabova and Searching the Bulgarian wine identity by Marin Atanasov.

Two lectures for the wine lovers and one for the wine professionals will be held during the Festival.
