According to the Macau business, the European Commission will authorise the distillation and storage of wine and increase the co-financing rate to help the sector face the serious crisis caused by Covid-19. Support for the wine sector is part of a package of measures that European Commissioner Janusz Wojciechowski presented to the parliament’s Agriculture Committee today. “There is no time to go into all the details, but let me assure you that our proposal ensures that a beneficiary can receive both crisis storage aid and crisis distillation aid for different lots of wine,” the Commissioner said in a videoconference, referring the details to the formal announcement of the measures next week.
