The West Berkshire Brewery (WBB) has said it is nearing the completion of its new £5m brewery, and expects to begin brewing at the end of August.

The brewery, which has been steered by veteran pub and brewing entrepreneur David Bruce since he joined the board as chairman in 2013, plans to increase its brewing capacity ten-fold at its new facility.

It’s opening follows a transformational few years for the brewery, which was founded in 1995, and is based in the village Yattendon. The company also purchased its first pub last year, in Islington, London. The 4,450sq ft pub is intended to be a showcase for WBB’s traditional cask ales which include flagship brand Good Old Boy, alongside its new craft beer range, brewed under the Renegade Brewery brand.

Around £4m worth of new, state of the art brewing equipment, has now arrived on site and is being installed. The new three vessel 60HL Brewhouse will also include specially designed bottling, kegging and canning lines, with the company planning to offer contract packaging to other brewers.

The new brewery will bring together every aspect of our business to include the brewery and the amazing new packaging line and the site will be home to our stunning new shop with bar and café facilities.’
