Another local distiller has been snapped up by a global megabrand. The seven-year-old Woodinville Whiskey Company, founded in 2010 by Orlin Sorensen and Brett Carlile, is being bought by Moët Hennessy. That company, whose parent is Louis Vuitton, owns a portfolio of luxury alcohol brands, including Dom Perignon and Belvedere.

Woodinville Whiskey Company operates a brand new whiskey tasting room and distillery along Redmond-Woodinville Road, in the heart of Woodinville's wine-beer-spirits producing region. The distillery sources its grains from a farm in Quincy south of Wenatchee.

“We are very proud about what we have accomplished since founding Woodinville Whiskey Company just a few years ago,” Sorensen told The Whiskey Wash. “As we considered the many strategic opportunities before us, it was clear that being part of the Moët Hennessy portfolio and distribution network will allow us to reach our goals much more quickly. Brett and I are thrilled to continue leading the business and to be part of the accelerated growth we expect to achieve as part of Moët Hennessy, and its parent LVMH, the world’s leading luxury goods company.”
