Ireland’s Dingle Distillery to release fourth single malt

The Dingle Distillery in Ireland has unveiled its fourth small batch single malt Irish whiskey, which is limited to 30,000 bottles globally.

08/03/2019

Dingle Batch No 4 Single Malt Irish whiskey marks an “impressive increase in production” following the previous release, of which just 2,000 bottles were created.

In the UK, 2,000 bottles of the new single malt will be available. There will also be a release of 500 bottles of a cask strength variant, which will be available exclusively in the UK and Ireland.

Bottled at 46.5% abv, Dingle Single Malt Whiskey Batch No 4 is a marriage of Bourbon, Sherry, and Port casks. It has an RRP of £80 (US$105).

It is described as a “full-flavored yet harmoniously balanced mix of creamy vanilla sweetness from the American oak casks, combined beautifully with dried fruit flavours of apricot and sultanas from the fortified wine casks”.

Elliot Hughes, the partner at The Dingle Distillery, said: “The unveiling of Batch No 4 is particularly exciting as it’s a whiskey married in our three main cask types; Bourbon, Sherry (both Pedro Jimenez and oloroso) as well as Port.

“This gives it a really unique point of difference which should once again give people a further insight into how our Dingle whiskey will continue to grow in terms of flavour over the coming years.

“It is also our largest batch release to date. The vast majority of the increased quantity from Batch 4 will be sold in export markets around the EU and North America.”

Dingle Cask Strength Whiskey Batch No 4 will be priced at £125 (US$164).
