Douglas Laing launches final whisky in Yula range

Scotch whiskey maker Douglas Laing has concluded its Yula trilogy with the launch of a 22-year-old limited edition bottling.

27/09/2017

Douglas Laing launched Yula, a brand of blended island Scotch whiskies inspired by a Norse goddess, in October 2015.

The collection evokes the tale of a beautiful goddess who went searching for a lost love with an apron full of stones. The stones fell out of her apron, forming the Scottish isles, and Yula eventually perished on the seas surrounding Islay – the last stone to fall.

Now, a 22-year-old edition joins the range’s 20-year-old and 21-year-old, bottled at a cask strength of 51.2% abv without coloring or chill-filtration.

“This final Yula bottling is a stunning example of the care, craft, and investment we put into our whiskies,” said Cara Laing, Douglas Laing’s director of whisky.

“As we fast approach our 70th year in the industry, we’re well versed at turning out distinctive whiskies of exceptional quality – this is very much the case with the Yula series.

“This most recent bottling has aged with a complex backdrop whilst maintaining that archetypal Island character.”

Just 900 bottles of Yula’s third and final whisky will be released through specialist whisky retailers from September 2017.
