Bladnoch 10 Year Old has been matured in Bourbon casks and is described as the “most accessible expression yet”.

The non-chill-filtered single malt has “grassy, floral aromas” along with oaky, vanilla and citrus on the nose. The palate has hints of ginger, coconut, and gooseberry followed by a “clean and refreshingly spicy citrus“ finish.

Bottled at 46.7% abv, the new expression joins the range, which includes no-age-statement Bladnoch Samsara, 15-year-old Bladnoch Adela, and 25-year-old Bladnoch Talia.

“The Bladnoch 10-year-old Bourbon cask finish represents an exciting new path for the brand, it is a great accompaniment to the rest of the Bladnoch range, adding a more accessibly priced premium Scotch, making it perfect for a day-to-day dram,” said owner David Prior.

Bladnoch 10 Year Old is available to buy from 6 July. It will be available in the UK from the Whisky Exchange for £59.99 and in Australia from Dan Murphy’s for AU$94.99.

Earlier this year, Bladnoch launched a 29-year-old single malt Scotch whisky to mark its 200-year anniversary.

The distillery was closed in March 2014, after its parent company, Northern Ireland-based Co-ordinated Development Services, went into liquidation.

But in 2015 it was revealed that the 200-year-old Bladnoch Distillery was set to restart production after the site was acquired by Australian businessman David Prior.
