USA Trade Tasting 2017 Show Preview

The USA Trade Tasting (USATT) returns to New York City this May 16th-17th at the Metropolitan Pavilion.

Following a successful debut in 2016, the USA Trade Tasting (USATT) returns to New York City this May 16th-17th at the Metropolitan Pavilion. USATT brings together all three tiers of the industry; owners, managers, sales and marketing leaders in the wine, beer and spirits import, distribution and retail industry can learn more about the business and network with other professionals from all over the country.

Special emphasis is devoted to market introduction and expansion. The Grand Tasting, for example, will feature more than 130 exhibitors from 20+ countries who are looking to connect with importers, distributors and retailers to launch or grow distribution in the U.S. market.

Brand new this year, the “Unique and Innovative Products Pavilion” will work a bit like a pop-up incubator for new projects—capped at 100 SKUs between wines, spirits and beer. “Suppliers can plan their go-to-market strategy based on the feedback and initial buyer interest,” explains Sid Patel, CEO and Founder of Beverage Trade Network and USATT. “On the other hand, in one dedicated area at the show, buyers will be able to add unique brands to their portfolios and offer their retail customers something fresh and new.”

A whiskey master class will feature critically acclaimed samples from Tasmania, India, France, England, Canada and Washington State. A full slate of TED-style educational seminars and talks will include:

An overview of market trends by Brandy Rand, VP of International Wine & Spirits Research (IWSR)

  • How to launch and grow a brand
  • How to get and grow with your distributor
  •  Effective merchandising and programming
  •  Social Media tactics for 2017

And panel discussions will include “Do’s & Don’ts of Getting Press” and “Office Hours with Importers and Distributors,” where attendees will have a chance to talk one-on-one with select importers and distributors who will share what they are really looking for when selecting a new brand.

One more wrinkle added for 2017: a new free program for USA Trade Tasting Buyers, called #ShowDeals. USATT Show Deals are two-day-only discounts for attendees, redeemable on the trade show floor, 11:00am – 6:00pm during the show.
