SABMiller has begun the construction of a R700 million ($64. 6m) Johannesburg malting plant that would provide malted barley to African countries where the world’s NO.2 brewer has operations. The new plant is more than three times the size of the current 48-year-old Alrode plant situated in Alberton, east of Johannesburg, South Africa. (Ventures-Africa)
