Based on a 300 year old recipe, for which Rogue Society uses a unique combination of 12 botanicals sourced from around the world, the gin is said to focus on pushing lemon and orange peel to to the forefront of the profile, providing a real citrus flavour and making the gin highly adaptable for use in cocktails.

“It was about creating a gin from the bottom of the world that turns tradition upside down,” explained Kiwi entrepreneur Mark Neal who co-founded Rogue Society with Richard Bourke and Daniel Mclaughlin. “As a category, gin’s quite serious – quite proper, and we felt there wasn’t anything on the market that really talked to us as emerging gin drinkers”.

The result are two distinctive expressions of Rogue Society – the Rogue Society Original and the higher-end Rogue Society Goldi Locks – which have picked up numerous awards including Gold at London International Wine & Spirits Competition, and Double Gold at San Fransisco Wine & Spirits Competition.

The Gin is distilled in a hand-beaten, 19th Century John Dore copper pot still with pure water free from car fumes and agricultural enhancements, sourced directly from rain drawn from Pacific Ocean, along with the aromatics of lemon peel, cassia bark and orris root. These are present among nine other smoked roots and flowers.
