Reuben’s Brews and Rainier Brewing Company introduce r&R Pils, a collaboration beer that hits shelves in Washington and Oregon this week. Sure to delight the taste buds of beer fanatics across the Pacific Northwest, the hoppy pilsner blends the award-winning lager expertise of Rainier Brewing Company with Reuben’s Brews’ highly lauded hop-forward styles. As part of Seattle Beer Week, there will be a launch party at Reuben’s Brews at 6pm on May 10th, featuring live music from local favorite Deep Sea Diver.
r&R Pils will be available on draught and in 22-ounce bottles throughout Washington and Oregon while supplies last. This special collaboration brew is 6% ABV with 40 IBUs. Malts used include U.S. Pilsner, German Pilsner, and Rye, and hops include Hallertau Tradition, Cashmere, Galaxy, and Azacca.
“r&R Pils is the first collaboration beer for Rainier in its 139-year history,” said Michael Scott, Rainier Brand Manager. “Our partnership with one of Seattle’s most well-respected breweries, Reuben’s Brews, reaffirms our ongoing commitment to brewing beer here in Washington state.”
The idea for the collaboration beer was originally formed over a pint, said Adam Robbings, head brewer and co-founder of Reuben’s Brews. “Michael is a regular in our taproom, so when he asked us to partner on a special project for Seattle Beer Week, we didn’t hesitate. This collaboration stays true to the core beliefs of both of our breweries and is a nice meld between our cultures and styles. For us, it’s humbling to be asked by an iconic brewery to do something like this.”
