Ladyface Ale Companie, and its brewpub Ladyface Alehouse & Brasserie, celebrate their 8th Anniversary and the release of a special Octennial ale and an anniversary party the week of January 16th. Founded by locals at the foot of Ladyface Mountain, Ladyface has been serving hand-crafted beer and food since 2009, making its mark locally and as a pioneer of the Los Angeles craft beer scene.

The anniversary ale, christened Octavia, emerges from the deep as a blend of three barrel-aged ales–a Belgian golden strong ale aged in Viogner wine barrels, a sour blonde ale from neutral red wine barrels, and an Imperial Belgian wheat ale aged in bourbon barrels—each submerged for three years. The pronounced aroma summons honey, oak, citrus, and pepper; at 13.1% ABV, sherry-like flavors shimmer across your palette with a boozy grip.

In addition to the release of Ladyface’s 8th anniversary ale, Octavia, events include an anniversary glassware release and anniversary party. (Tickets can be purchased online at LadyfaceOctennial.evenbrite.com or see the LadyfaceAle.com event calendar for details.)

“We were the first brewery in the Conejo Valley and one of first arrivals on the Los Angeles beer scene. To be here eight years later, an acknowledged leader in building the local beer community, is really satisfying,” said Co-Founder and General Manager Cyrena Nouzille. “We’re so grateful for the support we’ve received from our friends and neighbors since day one.”

In return, Ladyface supports local charities and schools through a variety of sponsorships and donations including Casa Pacifica Center for Children and Families and the Reyes Adobe Historical Site and Park.
