ZD Wines’ New Vertical Collections Feature Rare Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignons

Limited Availability Library Selections are the Perfect Luxurious Holiday Gift for Wine Collectors

12/12/2019

Never before offered as a collection, ZD Wines has opened its library to create vertical compilations of some of their most renowned wines, showcasing multiple vintages of world-class winemaking and exemplary Cabernet Sauvignon. Each offering is a glimpse into ZD’s 50 years of winemaking, allowing enthusiasts to explore the complexity of some of the Napa Valley’s most intriguing wines.

“For serious collectors, this is a rare opportunity to experience today how beautifully these wines mature,” said Brett Deleuze, president of ZD Wines and second generation of the founding deLeuze family. “They tell a story about how Cabernet Sauvignon evolves and continues to develop. It’s a chance to own and enjoy a bit of Napa Valley history.”

Available in extremely limited quantities, the collections offered are:

Classic Napa Valley

This collection showcases ageability of one of ZD Wines’ most well-recognized offerings. Since 1975, the winery has been producing Cabernet Sauvignon from premium Napa Valley vineyards. Each lot is vinified separately, fermented in small open-top stainless steel tanks, and blended. The wine is aged in American Oak for two years.

$11,000, includes 12 bottles each of the 2006 through 2016 ZD Wines Cabernet Sauvignon (11 vintages, 132 bottles total).

Pinnacle Napa Valley

The Pinnacle Napa Valley collection features Abacus, ZD Wines’ most distinct offering. This multi-vintage, solera-style blend expresses the depth of well-aged wine, infused with a touch of forwarding fruit and intensity of a younger wine. It is defined by ZD Wines’ Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon. The concept of Abacus was created more than 20 years ago and has maintained its iconic status as one of the most complex and innovative wines produced today. The wine is a blend of Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon dating back to 1992, with the current Abacus XXI (Twenty-First Bottling) including 27 vintages of ZD’s Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon.

$35,000, includes one three-pack of Abacus X through XXI, as well as a reservation for XXII releasing in the fall of 2020 (13 Bottlings, 39 bottles total).
