Several Washington County wineries took home honors from the 2018 Maryland Comptroller’s Cup competition.

Knob Hall Winery’s Vidal Blanc was named best in class for white wines and received a gold medal. Knob Hall’s winemaker, Mary Beth Seibert, said it is the highest award the winery has received for a white wine.
“Our Vidal Blanc has been described by a top chef in D.C. as the perfect wine for seafood,” Seibert said.
Another Washington County winery, Cool Ridge Vineyard, received a gold medal for its white blend, Cool White 2017.
Catoctin Breeze Vineyard in Frederick County took the best in show award for its Cabernet Franc 2016.
