Taylors Wines Wins WAWWJ 2016 Wine of the Year

The World Association of Wine Writers and Journalists (WAWWJ) has awarded Taylors Wines ‘2016 Wine of the Year’ for its 2012 Taylors St Andrews Shiraz.

20/04/2017

First founded in 1996, WAWWJ represents 80 countries, consisting of 13,500 wine journalists, judges, and bloggers. The World Ranking Wines and Spirits (WRWS) is commissioned and evaluated by the WAWWJ every year to develop an internationally recognized ranking system for the numerous wine shows and competitions held around the world.

In addition to the ‘2016 Wine of the Year’ title, the Clare Valley family-owned winery has held a position as one of the five most awarded wineries in the world for the past four years. It is the only Australian winery to accomplish such a feat.

Other Australian wineries in the Top 100 Wineries of the World 2016 include:

● Jacob’s Creek (ranked 10)
● McGuigan Wines (ranked 19)
● Wolf Blass Wines (ranked 25)
● Hardys Wines (ranked 29)
● Gatt Wines (ranked 32)
● De Bortoli Wines (ranked 43)
● McWilliam’s Wines (ranked 46) and much more...

A highly awarded wine, the 2012 Taylors St Andrew Shiraz has already received a trophy and 25 gold medals from both national and global wine shows since its release in 2014.

Among Taylors Wines’ 200 Gold Medal wins, a milestone achieved in the 2016-17 financial year, the winery has recently claimed two Double Gold and one Gold at the Berlin International Wine Competition and Gold at the Great American International Wine Competition.
