Lyme Bay Winery has added two new additions to its line-up of English sparkling wines.

The Devon-based producer has added Lyme Bay Blanc de Noirs and Lyme Bay Sparking Rose, to join its existing Classic Cuvee and Brut Reserve.

James Lambert, managing director, said: “We have had an incredible response to our Classic Cuvee and Brut Reserve and the introduction of these two new sparkling wines is an exciting step forward for Lyme Bay. The wines will be available to try on our stand at this year’s London Wine Fair in May.”

Lyme Bay Blanc de Noirs, which is made from 100% Pinot Noir grapes, is a sparkling white wine with a strong presence of red fruit characters. On the nose, it is rich and earthy with forwarding strawberry and cherry notes and it has a “delicious richness” on the palate.

The Sparkling Rose is made by the assemblage method, which blends a small portion of Pinot Noir red wine with Lyme Bay’s Blanc de Noir Cuvee base wine. The result is a vibrant soft pink wine with notes of wild strawberries, pepper, and redcurrant on the nose and flavors of honey, brioche, and almond.

In 2010 the company planted 26,000 vines and it had its first harvest in the Autumn of 2014.
