Local Wineries Win Big at Central Coast Wine Competition

Wineries from every county on the Central Coast are among winners of the 2017 Central Coast Wine Competitions 15th annual blind-tasting event.

Wineries from every county on the Central Coast are among winners of the 2017 Central Coast Wine Competition's 15th annual blind-tasting event. 

The two-day event was held from June 20-21 in Paso Robles. On the first day, 19 judges blind-tasted nearly 700 wines to determine winners of the Gold Medal and Best in Class honor. The 67 wines awarded Best in Class the day before were blind-tasted again the second day and then awarded Best Red, White, Rosè, Sparkling, and Dessert wine.

  • Best in Show - Broken Earth Winery, 2015 Grenache
  • Best Red Wine - Broken Earth Winery, 2015 Grenache
  • Best White Wine - Eberle Winery, 2016 Muscat Canelli
  • Best Pink Wine - Kità Wines, 2016 Grenache Rosè
  • Best Sparkling Wine - Laetitia Vineyard & Winery, 2014 Brut Cuvèe
  • Best Dessert Wine - Glunz Family Winery, Mission Angelica
