Linganore’s 2015 Reserve Chambourcin won a double gold award in the competition — the only Maryland wine to do so.

Linganore’s 2015 Retriever Red was one of six Maryland wines to win a gold medal.

The remaining entries, 2015 Petit Verdot, 2015 Reserve Cabernet, 2015 Red Skins and 2015 Bacioni all received silver medals from the competition, which features 3,077 wines from 621 vineyards internationally.

"There are only two competitions outside of Maryland that we enter, and the Finger Lakes International is one of them," said Anthony Aellen, executive winemaker at Linganore Winecellars, in a news release. "We are very proud to have been recognized by such a prestigious competition.”

Linganore’s double gold medal winner, the 2015 Reserve Chambourcin, is a red wine with aromas of black cherry, spice and dark chocolate. It retails for $27. All six award winners retail between $14 and $29.
