Deakin Estate launches new River to Vine labels

Deakin Estate has announced the release of its new River to Vine labels which have been designed to highlight the family-owned estate’s on the banks of the Murray River.

The new labels are an homage to the Australian flora that borders the Murray as well as the region’s traditional owners, the Latje Latje people.

Frank Newman, Senior Winemaker at Deakin Estate explained: “We pride ourselves on producing wines using only the best fruit sustainably grown on our estate with full control over every aspect of production.

“The Deakin Estate range pays homage to the role the Murray River plays in that offering, as it nurtures the soils and vines, and brings life to the land – allowing us to create delicious wines, year after year.”

Deakin’s viticulturist Craig Thornton is highly regarded for his meticulous irrigation trials in conjunction with research bodies such as the CSIRO.

He said: “My approach is to create a balanced vine canopy. Irrigation is our main tool in achieving this, as it is something we can manage each year to complement our warm, dry climate. We create the right vine architecture to manage cropping levels while capturing the best possible flavors.”

Deakin Estate wines are distributed nationally by Red + White and are available now to the independent trade.
