Cuvee Pazo Pondal brings proud to Spain. Out of 60 participants from Spain, Cuvee Pazo Pondal steals the limelight at the wine competition in London.

The London Wine Competition, held on March 8 and 9 this year, awarded the wines in the various categories. Cuvee Pazo Pondal from the Pazo Pondal Winery was entitled Best Wine in the Show by Country. Apart from this title, Cuvee was also honoured with a gold medal for being one of the best wines with good quality, attracting packaging and appropriate value for the price.

Cuvee Pazo Pondal is a premium brand of Pazo Pondal winery. It comes from the oldest plots of this winery, Correlos and Leira Longa. The grapes used in this wine are manually harvested in boxes of 20 kg. The ageing is done on its own lees to increase its volume and concentration in the mouth. Its nose has balsamic, mint and eucalyptus notes accompanied by light notes of elegant pastries, cream, and honey. It has an interesting minerality and a light smoked touch. It is broad and full-bodied on the palate, well balanced by good acidity.

Pazo Pondal, founded in 1998, is a family owned winery with an impressive landscape of Arbo. Arbo (Pontevedra) is one of the best sub-regions for Rias Baixas D.O. Albarino. The estate is located on the north bank of Rio Mino which includes 13 hectares of trellised vineyards cultivated with Albarino.  Wines produced by this winery express their terroir and are full of fruit and floral aromas.
