The Idyll Vineyard was established in 1966 by Daryl and Nini Sefton. In the late 19th century, the vine disease phylloxera exterminated the local wine industry. After this, Idyll Vineyard was one of the first vineyards to be planted. The landscape around the vineyard is peppered with alluvial basalt which is perfect for grape growing. Idyll Wine Co is a Costa Asset Management Company. (CAM is a privately owned Australian Company focusing on developing, managing and sustaining capital across a portfolio of agriculture and property assets.)

Apart from the gold winner Arcadian Shiraz, Idyll Wine Co has several other brands such as Jinda Lee – The Lifestyle Wine, Whisperers, Trails End and Idyll. The best collection of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Shiraz, Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Grigio and Chardonnay is produced by this company.
