West Cork Distillers Re-Introduces Black Reserve Irish Whiskey
West Cork Distillers, in partnership with its U.S. importer M.S. Walker, has announced the re-release of the popular Black Reserve Irish Whiskey in 2018.
West Cork Distillers, in partnership with its U.S. importer M.S. Walker, has announced the re-release of the popular Black Reserve Irish Whiskey in 2018. After completely selling out of the 4,800 bottles imported into the U.S., consumer demand has prompted John O’Connell and his distilling team at West Cork Distillers to release 4,800 bottles into the U.S. market for 2018.
West Cork Black Reserve is prepared by blending malted (36%) and un-malted grain whiskey, aged in Bourbon Casks for 4 – 5 years before being finished in lightly-toasted, heavily charred #4 first-fill bourbon casks for an additional six months. This process produces a slightly smoky, vanilla-rich sweet whiskey. Bottled at 43% ABV (86 Proof), this special whiskey is dark mahogany in color, with aromas of malt, vanilla, and a lingering sweetness.
Founded in 2003 by three friends, West Cork Distillers’ core line of whiskeys includes its highly-awarded blended Bourbon Cask Blended Irish Whiskey and 10-Year Single Malt Irish Whiskey. Growing up in the cultural homeland of Irish whiskey production, the founders – John O’Connell, Denis McCarthy and Ger McCarthy – share a deep passion for preserving the tradition of crafting Irish whiskey. Because of this passion, West Cork Distillers is the only Irish Distillery to exclusively malt its own barley and use fresh, local spring water and distill each of its whiskeys in copper still pots.
West Cork Distillers Black Reserve Irish Whiskey will retail for $39.99 throughout the United States. For more information on West Cork Distillers and their complete range of Irish Whiskeys, please visit http://www.westcorkdistillers.com.
