The Best Gin in the World to Make a Gin Tonic Comes from Germany: GINSTR Wins the London Prize
GINSTR - Stuttgart Dry has won overall internationally renowned brands and has become the best gin for gin and tonic.
More than 600 gin distilleries from 90 countries participated in London's International Wine & Spirit Competition (IWSC) to decide which gin would be voted best of the year. The winner of this year's Gin & Tonic Trophy has something to surprise: this coveted trophy has been awarded for the first time to Germany, more precisely to a small distillery in Stuttgart. GINSTR - Stuttgart Dry has won overall internationally renowned brands and has become the best gin for gin and tonic.
It should be noted that this Stuttgart gin has only been on the market for about 18 months. The brand is born from the passion for distillers gin Alexandre Franke, 34, and Markus Escher, 27 years old. They continue to make it in small quantities in their own distillery, from juniper berries they grow themselves, as well as other ingredients found in the Stuttgart region. GINSTR had already received the gold medal at the World Spirits Award this year. He is now recognized as the best gin in the world for preparing a gin and tonic.
The IWSC international jury includes 400 judges who spend several months of the year tasting and evaluating wines and spirits from around the world. Created in 1969, the contest is considered the most important prize in the sector. In addition, the young distillers received a special mention in the form of the Outstanding Gold Award from IWSC, for the result of exceptional clarity that they obtained in this category. In 2011, Monkey 47 distinguished itself at IWSC as Germany's leading gin, becoming an internationally renowned brand.
