Proximo Spirits, the owners of Jose Cuervo Tequila, Bushmills Irish Whiskey and The Kraken Spiced Rum has purchased island2island.

The deal came into effect from 1 July 2017 and although it will see Managing Director Les Page prepare for his retirement, he has stressed that nothing will change at the company.

“I have been impressed with Proximo Spirits and their commitment to Australia; they have a long-term vision for the future of island2island, developing and building the business that the team here have helped to grow,” Page said.

“I would like to thank everybody for their friendship and support over my years in the industry. 

“There will be no changes to the operations of the company.”

Page told TheShout that he will stay on with island2island for the next three months before kicking off his retirement.
