Harvey Nichols Launches Own-Label Metropolitan Gin

British luxury department store Harvey Nichols has released its first own-label gin, which is inspired by eight cities.

14/02/2019

Harvey Nichols Metropolitan Gin is distilled in small batches in Portobello Road, London. The “juniper-led” recipe combines botanicals and ingredients from eight cities that have a Harvey Nichols store.

Ingredients include clover for Dublin, heather for Edinburgh, rose for Leeds, west African spice grains of paradise that were shipped to Bristol, honey to symbolise the worker bee of Manchester, lemon as a key ingredient of the Liverpool tart, and coriander seeds, cardamom pods and ginger to represent the home of the balti curry, Birmingham.

The gin is recommended served in a gin and tonic or in a Martini.

Rob Graves, head of food and beverage buying at Harvey Nichols, said: “Metropolitan Gin is a celebration of everything we love; our people and our home, stylish innovation and timeless tradition. We believe our gin offers customers a quality, craft spirit, full of botanicals, with great heritage.”

Harvey Nichols Metropolitan Gin has an RRP of £35.50 (US$45.60) and is currently available to buy online and in all Harvey Nichols stores.
