New Acquisitions Propel WX Brands into Wine Industry Top 20

WX is proud to announce the following additions to its expanding portfolio of brands

05/04/2017

WX Brands, which quietly started out as Winery Exchange 17 years ago, has made itself into a wine industry contender with a unique business model including both exclusive retail brands and proprietary wine brands that have been acquired in the last five years.

Today, WX is proud to announce the following additions to its expanding portfolio of brands - Bread & Butter Wines and the Jamieson Ranch Vineyards portfolio from Napa Valley, CA.  With these acquisitions, WX is now among the industry's Top 20 wine suppliers in the US.

"These acquisitions reflect the continued evolution of our company," explained Peter Byck, WX CEO. "We built this company by providing exclusive, consistently great quality wines, beers and spirits to our retail customers, and that remains the core of our business.  Now we are adding a collection of wine brands that uniquely appeal to consumers and will drive category growth for our retail and wholesale customers."

Produced by Napa Valley winery Fior di Sole, Bread & Butter has become one of the Top 30 Super Premium brands in the US in just three years.  With both a California Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, WX is looking to expand distribution for Bread & Butter wines across the U.S.

"This is one of the hottest brands in the wine industry," commented Oren Lewin, WX SVP of Marketing & Strategy. "Bread & Butter grew over 70% in 2016 – it has really struck a chord with consumers."

Jamieson Ranch Vineyards is located on a historic land grant in Napa that dates back to 1850. This family of wines includes the award-winning brands Double Lariat, Reata, Whiplash and Light Horse.

"The quality of the Jamieson Ranch wines is incredible," continued Lewin. "Just look at the scores on their Double Lariat Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon: three straight years over 90 points from publications like Wine Enthusiast and Wine Advocate."

In addition to Bread & Butter and the Jamieson Ranch Vineyards portfolio, WX also owns Chronic Cellars, an up-and-coming winery from Paso Robles, CA, and Our Daily Wines, the leading brand of preservative-free wines. Additionally, the company makes over 80 exclusive wine, beer and spirit brands for key retailers in the US and around the world.

Byck believes these acquisitions are good for the company, its customers and consumers. "They strengthen our winemaking capability, generate growth for our retailers and distributors, and will be enjoyed by more consumers across the country. It's a win for everyone."

Zepponi & Company served as the exclusive financial advisor to the sellers of Bread & Butter.
