NAPA, Calif.--(EON: Enhanced Online News)--Accolade Wines’ iconic South Australian winery, Hardys, has been independently named the most powerful Australian wine brand in the world and the second most powerful wine brand overall in the Power 100 by the 2013 Intangible Business Report1. Hardys, which has been among the top five for several years, captured the top ranking Australian wine brand position and was second only to U.S. producer E & J Gallo on the overall list of the world’s most powerful wine brands.

“This result demonstrates the level of commitment we have for the business. Hardys have always strived to be the best, not just in our own backyard but also globally.”
The annual Power 100, now in its eighth year, is produced by Intangible Business, a leading independent international brand valuation and strategy consultancy. Nearly 10,000 brands in the spirit and wine sectors were evaluated on a wide variety of metrics, including market share, brand awareness, brand heritage and more, to determine a list of the 100 most powerful brands in the world. The expert panel of judges represented more than 200 years’ worth of combined experience in the global drinks industry.

As Hardys celebrates this notable accolade, it also rejoices in its 160th year of winemaking in Australia. The Hardys label is currently found in more than 80 countries around the globe and is one of the most recognized names in Australian winemaking in the US.

“Becoming the world’s most powerful Australian wine brand is such a wonderful achievement for the winery founded by my family, and one that my great-great grandfather, Thomas Hardy, would have been immensely proud of,” offers Hardys fifth-generation family member Bill Hardy. “This result demonstrates the level of commitment we have for the business. Hardys have always strived to be the best, not just in our own backyard but also globally.”

Hardys is positioned to maintain its momentum with initiatives including revitalizing the packaging design for all brands within the portfolio.
