Wynwood Brewing Co. (WBCo), the independent, family-operated first craft production brewery in Miami, teamed up with The London Police (TLP) to create a Barrel Aged Imperial Porter, “Grand Pop’s,” featuring bottle artwork designed by the Netherland-based british art duo.

Chaz, one half of The London Police who are known internationally for their distinctive street art, shared his enthusiasm for the project.

“The London Police art crew have never been shy to enjoy the social side of drinking in Miami, so when we were asked by the Wynwood Brewery boys to collaborate on an exclusive TLP beer we were over the moon,” said Chaz. “We believe that excellent craftsmanship and heartfelt enthusiasm are necessary attributes to making our paintings, and we saw that same work ethic paralleled in their brewing process and production. The artwork for the label is a mix of classic TLP Lads characters with a unique background inspired by the production line we saw on location at the brewery. We hope everyone will enjoy the mix of collectible art on the bottle and innovative locally brewed beer.”

Folks at the brewery are also massively excited for this collaboration.

“Wynwood Brewing carries the name, spirit, and creativity of its neighborhood. We’re happy and humbled to be doing this special collaboration with The London Police,” said Wynwood Brewing Co. Co-founder Luis Brignoni. “It’s something we want to continue doing — team up with a world class artist to design unique, one of-a-kind labels for a world class brew.  What better beer than Barrel Aged GrandPops?!”

To create this rich, robust beer, WBCo brewed an imperial version of its award-winning Pop’s porter and aged it in freshly used whiskey barrels which added complexity and delicious notes of oak and vanilla. The use of London ale yeast gives the beer a clean finish with mild fruity esters and notes of figs, dark chocolate and toffee attributed to the malt. It can be enjoyed fresh or collected and saved for a special occasion.

The “Grand Pops” bottle will be released on Thursday, December 7th at a special brewery event starting at noon with Chaz from The London Police showing up from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.. Barrel Aged Grand Pops will be available at Wynwood Brewing’s taproom and also for distribution at key craft beer havens.
