Wold Gold Gleams at a Beer Competition in London
United Kingdom’s best beer of 2018 has been chosen by an influential beer completion in London.
Beer is the most common drink consumed after water and tea. With so many beer brands on the market, it is not easy to decide which beer would be the best. A beer Competition introduced in London in 2018 has identified several beer brands that are truly amazing and worth buying.
The London Beer Competition that held on March 8-9, 2018 has announced its winners and the honour of being the best beer in the show by country is given to Wold Gold beer from Wold Top Brewery of United Kingdom. Wold Gold took a silver medal scoring 75+ points. This score was divided into three categories – quality score, the packaging score and value score. All the beers in the competition were judged in these three key criteria. Scoring 75+ points, Wold Gold proved that it is the best in quality with a nice and meaningful packaging, and it carries a value that is suitable for its price.
Wold Gold is a blonde beer with continental style, soft and fruity flavour with hints of spice. This beer is a mix of Wold grown Barley, Wheat and Cara malt hopped with Styrian and Goldings hop. This mix gives the beer its soft and fruity flavour with a hint of spice. It contains 4.8% of alcohol by volume and comes in both cask and bottle.
Wold Top Brewery was established in 2003 by arable farmers Tom and Gill Mellor. This family business is currently run by third and fourth generation. They have farmed 600 acres high on the Yorkshire Wolds for generations. The brewery brewed its first ale in a converted barn in 2003. To brew real ales with character, they use traditional methods and recipes.
The London Beer Competition has announced its dates of 2019. The competition will take place on March 21-22, 2019 in London. The submissions are now open. Enter your beer in the competition by August 31, 2018, to avail the Super Early Bird Pricing Offer. Register here.
