Sir Edward’s launches beer reserve whisky
La Martiniquaise-Bardinet’s blended Scotch whisky label Sir Edward’s has launched a new expression, which it says represents an alliance between the brewing and distilling industries.
According to the drinks business
The Beer Reserve combines malt whisky which has been finished in Scottish ale casks, becoming “impregnated with hoppy notes, caramelised flavours and roasted oat aromas”, with grain whisky to give the final blend.
According to the producer, the resulting whisky has aromas of heather honey, toffee, citrus and sweet hops with flavours of honey, berries and rich maltiness.
The new 40% ABV bottling is the fourth addition to the Sir Edward’s portfolio, which includes Sir Edward’s Finest, a gently peated expression; Sir Edward’s Smoky, and Sir Edward’s 12 Years-Old.
