Meet the Saison – A Silver Winner Beer at a Major Beer Competition in London
LaCotta Brewery, based in Italy, has won the silver medal at 2018 London Beer Competition for its fruit beer - Saison.
The first ever London Beer Competition took place in London on March 8-9, 2018. LaCotta Brewery won a silver medal in the competition and opened the door of the global wine industry. The Saison from this brewery received this distinction for scoring highly in three different categories, quality, packaging and value. These three categories are the major criteria on which the London Beer Competition operates.
Saison was created on the 10th year anniversary of LaCotta Brewery. It is a beer with an Amber colour and gentle taste. Its caramelized flavour is a result of biological-honey used in the preparation. The use of a Scottish Whiskey Yeast gives this beer a very structured body. All the LaCotta beers are produced with natural methods and are not pasteurized. Either the top quality suppliers are used for ingredients or company itself produces malts whenever possible.
The LaCotta was founded in 2004 by Luigi Rengucci and Francesco Tontini. It is located in Ca ‘Corsuccio, a small town in the heart of the historical Montefeltro between Urbino, Carpegna, and San Leo. LaCotta is the symbol of high-quality horticultural beer production which is acquired by a great research, passion and artisanal knowledge. An old farmhouse was entirely renovated to become a laboratory and the entire production cycle is concentrated over there. The brewery successfully combines the tradition with creative architectural elements and guarantees excellence and quality of the products.
The London Beer Competition has announced its dates of 2019. The judging will take place in London on March 21-22, 2019. The competition will work on the same criteria as before.
