Hogs Back Unveils Session Ale for Christmas
Hogs Back Brewery has not one but three seasonal offerings, including one brand new low-abv ale.
Halloween is behind us, along with its limited-edition autumn beers, and the Christmas lights have already been switched on. That’s right, it’s nearly time for the festive beer releases to begin. Hogs Back Brewery has not one but three seasonal offerings, including one brand new low-abv ale.
This year the Surrey brewer is adding a new beer to its existing Christmas line up. Yule Hog, a red rye beer, will be joining Advent Ale and Mistletoe & Swine this December. The new ale clocks in at just 3.8% abv.
‘We’ve seen a strong increase in the popularity of session ales as part of our seasonal calendar this year,’ said the brewer’s managing director, Rupert Thompson, citing the success of summer beer Biker this year, brewed to celebrate the Farnham Bike Ride, and containing only 3.4% abv.
Seasonal stablemate Advent Ale is a ruby coloured ale at 4.4% abv, while 5.2% abv Mistletoe & Swine is an amber ale made with a festive mulling mix of spices.
