Murray Street

Wines from Barossa Valley, Australia, Now Looking For Wine Importers in USA

History

Murray Street Vineyards was founded in 2001 with the vision of creating a wine business that could honour the Barossa Valley’s rich winemaking heritage as well as raising the standards of winemaking for the future.

We use new world technologies with old world techniques to produce some of the finest wines of the region, specialising in Estate grown Shiraz and Shiraz blends.

The vineyards are dry grown and managed in a sustainable way as the team are mindful of their environmental responsibility and of leaving a healthy legacy for future generations.

This approach encourages the roots of each vine to reach for the bedrock and tell the story of the Barossa’s ancient soils and our unique terroir.

Our reputation has been steadily building with increasing international recognition and awards received for our wines.

MSV

Murray Street Vineyards’ flagship brand
The winemaker produces hand crafted premium and super-premium wines expressive of their varietal and terroir, immediately approachable but structured for cellaring and further development over an extended period.

2010 Benno Shiraz Mataro

Blending Mataro and Shiraz, two of the stalwarts of the Barossa Valley provide the richness and robustness necessary to help us honour the origins of this wonderful wine region. A brooding, powerful blend.

2010 Sophia Shiraz

A more feminine style of Shiraz with a little perfume. To produce this desired style we ferment Shiraz with pressed Viognier skins.

2010 Greenock Estate Shiraz

At the gentle sloping Greenock vineyard the soil is brown loam over ironstone and white sandstone and the dry-grown grapes mature in a protected environment surrounded by the low hills. With a more ‘old world’ palate and typically matured in French oak the tannins are soft and hints of spice linger.

2010 Gomersal Estate Shiraz

The MSV Gomersal Estate on the Western ranges of the Barossa Valley is blessed with ancient soils rich in lime and calcium; these soils produce some of the finest grapes in the region. Gomersal Shiraz is made in a restrained new world style.

2009 Red Label Shiraz

A classic Barossa style of Shiraz. Big, juicy fruit with a smooth finish, made with fruit from the Kalimna Hills bursting with varietal flavours and aromas.

2009 Red Label Cabernet Sauvignon

A well made, cool climate Cabernet made with fruit from Eden Valley and Kalimna Hills. Soft, approachable and ready for enjoyment.

2009 The Barossa Shiraz Grenache Mataro

On any given year we pick and ferment Shiraz, Grenache, Mataro, Cinsaut, and a host of other grape varieties to build a wine that we think best expresses the Barossa for that vintage year. A ripe and hedonistic example of a classic Rhône blend for your enjoyment.

2013 Viognier Marsanne

Viognier Marsanne is the perfect marriage of two rare varieties produced on our estate and the culmination of brave viticulture and winemaking exploration A refreshing and refined blend perfect for serving with food or on its own.

Black Label

The Black Label brand is our expression of single varietal wines, designed to highlight their individual characteristics.

2012 Black Label Shiraz

The Barossa’s reputation has been built on the back of Shiraz, and this one has what it takes to maintain the rich heritage. We pick grapes from an array of soil types from black to red, deep to shallow, exposed hillsides to cool creeks and ferment them in our winery using a combination of traditional and contemporary techniques.

2010 Black Label Grenache

From old vine plantings dating back to 1948, the fruit is dry grown on a bed of brown loam over ancient sedimentary rock at our property in Greenock to produce a style of grenache that is versatile for drinking all year round.

2012 Black Label Mataro

f ever a variety was destined to be grown in the Barossa, it is Mataro, thriving on. warm dry growing conditions with the ability to handle soils with low nutrient levels. It has always been an important part of our blends but we have taken the opportunity to showcase it on its own.

2012 Black Label Cabernet

Split in two along a range of hills, the Barossa can deliver chewy, brambly Cabernet from the Valley floor and lighter, elegant characters from in the hills. For complexity and balance, this cabernet is a combination of the two sub regions within the Barossa.

2012 Black Label Semillon

With fruit from the estate at Greenock, this old vine Semillon is dry grown from 1948 plantings. This style of Semillon is produced in a manner that reflects the crisp and citrus characters of the Semillon fruit. The fruit is harvested by hand when the sugar and fruitfulness are balanced.
