Chateau de la Gaude
Château de la Gaude, an 18th-century Provençal bastide nestled in a green haven in the heart of Aix en Provence, opened its doors in 2019. The man who dreamed of reviving this sleeping beauty of an estate has successfully transformed it into a unique place of life and conviviality, promoting a certain “art de vivre” around the worlds of wine, art and gastronomy. Due to its location, the estate offers a breath-taking view of Montagne Sainte-Victoire, the ultimate symbol of Provence.
The district has a rich history with for instance its water source, first discovered in the 12th century. The 5-star boutique hotel, the formal gardens, the longères, the chapel and the orangeries have been expertly preserved with charm, while the winery, the cellar, the Valmont Spa, the outdoor swimming pool and the art gallery all serve to superbly enhance this prestigious estate. These convivial and unique amenities promote a certain “art de vivre” around the worlds of art, wine and gastronomy. The two restaurants take you on a culinary journey imagined by starred chef Matthieu Dupuis-Baumal.
