Bob grew up in Plymouth, Devon, less than a couple of miles away from the Mayflower Steps. After moving to London to read Philosophy at Heythrop College, he then spent a couple of years working in PR before deciding to completely side-step into the wonderful world of wine, going from a suit in the city to white van driver overnight.

Five years in the UK’s largest wine retailer enabled him to develop his taste for anything expensive and attain the WSET Diploma. From there he spent a year in private client fine wine sales, sampling and selling some of the top wines in the world. Leaving this to work, briefly, on a wine magazine, his next step was to join the celebrated London Wine Fair to work on its revamp for 2014. Now nearly three years in he still loves creating an event for the good of the trade, working with home and international exhibitors, and learning how things work at every level in the UK wine business.
