A real mouthful, the wine references a Maori hill in the Hawkes Bay region, which has gained a measure of fame for being the longest place name of consecutive characters.  By our reckoning it also makes it the longest, single wine name in the world.

Shortened to Taumata to make it a little easier to say, the new white wine from New Zealand’s north island is a rounder, more floral Sauvignon Blanc and is available immediately in cases of 6.

Taumata Sauvignon Blanc (12.5% abv) – Expressive grassy/asparagus nose backed with tropical fruits and citrus with hints of pineapple in a fruity palate. Crisp acidity, plenty of gooseberry character with herbal notes on the finish. A good balance between the varietals’ herbaceous notes and tropical fruit and citrus character.
