Cline Family Cellars, the Sonoma-based winery owned and operated by Fred and Nancy Cline, unveiled a modern new label design for its Lodi Old Vine Zinfandel (SRP $10.99) in celebration of the winery’s 35th anniversary this year. Cline’s Old Vine Zinfandel from Lodi is a category leader and one of the top five brands in its price segment. The new package reflects the rich character of the wine and highlights the Lodi appellation and family ownership. The updated label will start shipping this month.

The label’s artwork was designed by Affinity Creative of Mare Island, Calif. It features a two-piece structure with a bold white logo, black diamond textured paper and embossed foil. It is topped by a red closure emblazoned with the Cline gold metallic “C.” The label also highlights the age of its vines, demonstrating how time builds character. For Cline’s Lodi Zinfandel, 50-plus-year-old vines deliver juicy, ripe berry, jam and spice notes to the 2015 vintage. Cline also makes an Ancient Vines Zinfandel, from 100-plus-year-old vines grown in the Contra Costa region.

Cline Family Cellars has been known for high-quality Zinfandel for over three decades, and it is important that the packaging reflects the quality in the bottle. These old vine plantings are a California treasure and we wanted to reflect this luxury in our new label design,” says the owner and founder Fred Cline.
