In 2013-2015, a large-scale modernization project aiming to create conditions for the production of top-quality wine was carried out at the chateau. Wine production at the chateau is led by winemaker Louis Mitjavile – the one of the world-leading specialist in Merlot variety. Art Russe is a blend of 90% Merlot and 10% of Cabernet Franc.

In 2017, the chateau signed a cooperation agreement with the Art Russe Foundation (based in the UK), which owns one of the largest private collections of Russian art of the 19th-20th centuries. Under the agreement, 12 works of Russian and Soviet artists from the collection of the Foundation are selected to decorate the chateau wine labels. Now all Art Russe Saint-Emilion Grand Cru collections are available to the U.S. wine connoisseurs (including the premium and luxury packaging of various formats). The shape of the Art Russe bottle is reminiscent of ancient Bordeaux amphora-like vessels. Only 2 500 cases of iconic Art Russe Saint-Emilion Grand Cru are produced annually.

Laurent Prosperi, Director of Chateau La Grace Dieu des Prieurs: “The U.S. market is one of the most overtly saturated and competitive markets in the world; however, U.S. wine lovers have proven they are open to the experimentation and discovery of new wines. Therefore, we believe it is extremely important to present the Art Russe collection to American consumers now. We are hopeful that the feedback we receive about the winemaking style of the famous winemaker Louis Mitjavile, and to artworks that adorn each bottle of Chateau La Grace Dieu des, Prieurs will be positive. ”
