Independent bottler Whisky Foundation Reserve has released a rare Springbank 24 year old single malt whisky, the price of which will rise based on market demand.

Limited to 255 bottles worldwide, Springbank 24 Year Old is matured in a Sherry cask and bottled by The Maltman in 2017 at 47.1% abv.

The initial public offering is US$1, and the first few to purchase the whisky will receive it a low price.

With each purchase the price will then increase automatically. The market value of the bottle is currently estimated by analysts to be US$550.

Springbank 24 year old is said to have hints of “brown sugar, freshly brewed coffee and a touch of candied orange peel” on the nose. The palate follows with “subtle notes of winter fruits backed up by dark chocolate, Christmas cake and a touch of black pepper”.

“Based on current trends and demand for well-aged Springbank bottlings, we anticipate strong volume,” said Whisky Foundation brand ambassador Liam Hiller.

“The Springbank 24 year old is an excellent first offering, and we plan to bring whisky fans further amazing single cask bottlings, produced exclusively for the Whisky Foundation from Scotland’s best distilleries.”
