London Distillery Releases 400-day-aged Gin
The East London Liquor Company (ELLC) is set to release its final barrel-aged gin of 2017 – a 400-day-matured expression.
The East London Liquor Company (ELLC) is set to release its final barrel-aged gin of 2017 – a 400-day-matured expression.
The East London distillery has left its London Dry Gin to mature in ex-Sherry casks for 400 days.
The gin leaves the casks with aromas of “orange zest, gingersnap cookies and chocolate-covered coffee beans”, with flavours of “bright citrus and baking spices such as cloves and allspice on the palate”.
Bottled at 46.1% abv, the new release is the latest in the ELLC’s line of barrel aged gins, which started in January 2016 and has seen up to four limited-edition barrel-aged gins released throughout each year.
Past barrel-aged releases from the ELLC have included gins aged in ex-rye whiskey barrels and French oak casks.
The latest barrel-aged release will be available from 1 December, with just 401 bottles being released.
Bottles will cost £49 (US$65) and will be available direct from the ELLC, as well as bottle shops across the capital.
