Cambridge Distillery has launched what it claims to be the world’s most expensive gin at £2,000 made from the “angel’s share” of its Japanese gin.
With just six bottles going on sale at Selfridges, Watenshi was crafted by capturing the evaporation (or angel’s share) of the distillery’s Japanese gin, which features botanicals like yuzu peel, shiso leaf and sesame seeds.
Master distiller William Lowe takes the top 1% of the gin for Watenshi, which mean’s “Japanese angel”, extracting just 15ml per distillation.
