RALEIGH, N.C., Oct. 26, 2015 – Mims Distributing Company, a wholesale beverage distributor in North Carolina, has announced that its weekly craft beer podcast, “Tales From The Cask,” has been recognized as one of the top beer podcasts in the nation. The podcast placed second in the best podcast/broadcast category at the 2015 North American Guild of Beer Writers Awards, which honors the best beer and brewing industry coverage in nine categories. The Guild is comprised of top beer writers, columnists, bloggers, critics and publicists from the U.S., Canada, United Kingdom and Europe. The winners of the Guild’s third annual awards were announced Saturday, Sept. 26 at the Great American Beer Festival ® in Denver.

“Tales From The Cask” features Mims Distributing’s CEO Chip Mims and his colleagues Tony Walldroff and Jennifer Balik, two Certified Cicerones ®. Together, the affable Tales crew delivers a light-hearted take on the week’s beer news, interviews beer enthusiasts – including everyone from brewmasters to bloggers – all the while sipping and offering their opinions on the latest beers on the market. The podcast series aims to educate beer novices and experts alike, and provide a behind-the-scenes look into the industry.
