Metrics Show Strong Wine Industry Growth .
Direct-to-consumer shipments jump 30% in May and off-premises sales increase 5%
The fifth week in May included the Memorial Day holiday and the following day, adding an extra shipping period for direct-to-consumer (DtC) wine purchases and that helped boost the total DtC shipments by 30% over May 2015. Larger wineries are also getting more involved in the DtC game, which has helped increase the shipments recorded by Wines & Vines and ShipCompliant.
The strong DtC numbers are just one of the positive Wine Industry Metrics tracked by Wines Vines Analytics and based on data from the market research firms IRI and BW166 as well as the winejobs.com Winery Job Index. The complete report can be found at winesandvines.com/metrics.
