Dont ruin red wine, keep it in the fridge

Chardonnay is out and muscadet is in.

Traditional corks are in vogue although plastic ones are at least squidgier than they used to be. And red wine should always be kept in the fridge.

Jancis Robinson, the editor of The Oxford Companion to Wine, has outlined the state of viticulture and what the nations wine drinkers still need to learn. She told the Hay Festival on Saturday that it was a “golden age” of wine, adding that it was “now very hard to find a bad wine”.

The pendulum had swung back to the vineyard from the wineries, she said,
