The company, best known for its namesake white rum expression, confirmed to just-drinks earlier today that it will handle Santa Teresa's range internationally, with the exception of the rum producer's home market. The distribution agreement does not have a specific end date, a spokesperson for Bacardi said.

In a statement, Bacardi said the partnership aims to "increase exports of the premium category through greater access to markets, clients and consumers worldwide".

Santa Teresa, the oldest rum producer in Venezuela, sells around 200,000 cases of its aged rum portfolio, with its main markets being Spain, Italy and the US.
