Pelican Brewing Company this weekend landed a Trifecta winning Gold, Silver and Bronze Medals from the North American Beer Awards. Pelican’s highly-decorated MacPelican’s Wee Heavy captured another Gold while six additional brews snagged silver and one bronze:

The North American Beer Awards is sanctioned by the North American Brewers Association and takes place in Idaho Falls, Idaho in conjunction with the Mountain Brewers Beer Fest. It is a unique industry competition that judges the best beers in the country by style guidelines. The event is conducted as a single blind sampling followed by rank ordering of the entries within a style category.

Born at the Beach Pelican was born at the beach 21 years ago as a small, stand alone brewpub in a small town on the Oregon coast—Pacific City.  Pacific City is still a small town, but with consistent growth and demand for its products, Pelican has recently expanded to double brewing and bottling capacity at its Tillamook facility and opened a new brewpub in Cannon Beach.
