Owd Mac’s Imperial Stout, a beer three years in the making, will be released in bottles exclusively at our production facility at 1927 Moodie Road in Lawrence on Saturday, June 9th beginning at 11 am.

With a starting gravity of 26.5ºP and clocking in at 12.5% ABV, it’s easy to see why we call this bold brew a DOUBLE Imperial Stout. The base beer exhibits roasted, coffee-like aromas and flavors, with hints of caramel and just a touch of bitterness that balances the malt sweetness.

After primary fermentation, Owd Mac’s is transferred to American whiskey barrels for extended aging, picking up amazing aromas and flavors of vanilla, bourbon whiskey, figs, and port wine along the way. The original Owd Mac’s found a home in barrels from the McCormick distillery in Weston, MO, and the name Mac comes from this tradition. This iteration of Owd Mac’s was aged on freshly emptied Templeton Rye whiskey barrels, which lend a bold, spicy character of rye whiskey to the finish. Aged for three years in these special barrels,

Owd Mac’s will be available in 375ml bottles for $12 each, with a limit of six per customer. The doors to our production facility will open at 11 am. However, there will be a bar serving Free State beer, including a few other limited barrel offerings, beginning at 10 am for those who opt to show up early.

To make the process as smooth as possible, we will allocate tickets as customers arrive. The number of tickets you claim (up to six) reserves the corresponding number of bottles that we will hold for you. Once you have received your tickets, feel free to grab a beer from the bar. When the doors open at 11 am, you can walk through our production facility, enjoy live music, and engage with fellow beer enthusiasts. Redeem your tickets for bottles of Owd Mac’s as you depart, at which point payment will be due.
