Armenia is one of the world's earliest grape growing and processing societies: Armenian winemaking dates back at least 6000 years. Industrial wine production began in Armenia in the 1870s. Vayots Dzor is the largest grape growing and processing center in the country and is famous for its grapes of Areni sort. The company owns 80,000 square meters of vineyards that are located in Aghavnadzor village, 1500 meters above sea level in the mountains. The firm produces dry, semi-dry and semi-sweet red wines.
