Il Boschetto is nestled in the hills at the foot of Monte Amiata by the municipality of Cinigiano in Montecucco. Due to its special microclimate and soil composition, Montecucco achieved its DOC status in 1998 and DOCG status as late as in 2011. Il Boschetto has been expanded since 2000 which currently consists of 3.6 hectares of various varieties of vines with a density of about 4800 vines per hectare. Sangiovese will always be our flagship, although we have playful and innovative inputs from Cabernet, Merlot, Alicante, Syrah and even a little Teroldego.
