We make simple and honest mead. - of local honey from Stevns and South Zealand. The taste is gentle and the mead sustainably made. We pick herbs and fruits locally, along Stevn's coast, right next to the Baltic Sea.

Mjødgård is a microbrewery that specializes in brewing mead. We have a brewery in Dalby, on the border between Stevns and Faxe municipality. Our brewery is decorated in a historic setting, in one of the old Heering liqueur halls. The brewery was started by Odd Castmar in 2008 in Djursland. In January 2018, I (Thomas Priiskorn) took over Mjødgård, and today I am Mjødgård's owner and brewer. In connection with the change of ownership, the brewery moved to East Zealand, first based in Stevns and after 15 months there, we moved it to Dalby in some larger premises. From here, our gourmet mead is still brewed. The whole idea and vision behind Mjødgård is to brew a mead of the highest quality. We want to brew gourmet mead and we see ourselves as part of the New Nordic Cuisine. The brewery works with an authentic and traditional approach to brewing, which has been in use since the Viking Age and probably even further back in time.

We pride ourselves with making mead from the finest locally sourced ingredients. From the elderflower we pick ourselves, to the green beekeepers nearby. The taste is in the detail, which we care about alot. We also use the Danish history in our brews. Recently we launched our Kingmead (Kongemjøden) which is named and brewed with inspiration from the Danish Viking kings. Our product is not just alcohol, it is a story. We have four different varieties of mead in our portfolio. The Elderflower Mead, Pure Mead, Mead Herb and our price winner Forrest Mead. We sell them in two different sizes, 75cl and 35cl. We also have a seasonal Winter mead, and our three King Meads Sven, Gorm and Harald.
